 Contemplating the Five Mindfulness Trainings
followed by Transmission of the Five Mindfulness Trainings Ceremony

This is a wonderful opportunity to receive the Five Mindfulness Trainings for the first time or to renew them supported by your sangha family.  The Buddha offered the Five Wonderful Precepts to guide us in our lives. Thich Nhat Hanh translated these precepts for modern times with mindfulness at the foundation of each one.

Thay reminds us “It is enough to study and put them [the Five Mindfulness Trainings] into practice for ourselves, but it’s easier when we’ve made a public commitment and received support from a whole community to practice the trainings….When we have the energy of a whole community that has witnessed us make a commitment to the trainings, it’s easier to practice.”

Our Dharma Teachers, Nisi Segor, True Recollection of Virtues, Sheila Canal, True Spiritual Understanding and John Wadsworth, True Land of Fortunes, will lead the contemplation of the Five Mindfulness Trainings followed by the transmission ceremony.

Please join us whether you plan to receive the transmission or if you want to simply spend a day of mindfulness with your sangha family.  If you would like to receive the trainings, you can receive the full transmission of the Five Mindfulness Trainings or any number of trainings. Or if you’ve previously received the transmission, let us know you want to renew and include the lineage name you were given when you received the Five Mindfulness Trainings.  To quote our teacher, Thay, “it is perfectly good to pick just one training to focus on, because the one contains the all.”

Please complete the short form at the end of this announcement and email it to one of the Dharma teachers by March 31.
