With the coming of spring, let’s join together to celebrate the emergence from our winter hibernation and the isolation of the pandemic. Enjoying both silence and sharing, we will practice together as a spiritual community to deepen our understanding of interbeing (interconnectedness) with each other and the earth.
We will be practicing sitting and walking meditation, listening to a talk, having time for something creative, sharing deep listening and loving speech as we realize our spiritual friendship in community.
Our day is in conjunction with Many Rivers Sangha, a circle of communities dedicated to the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh in Oregon and SW Washington. Many of us will be practicing simultaneously in person in Portland, Eugene and Ashland, with the theme: Peace in Every Step, Freedom in Every Smile.
Alexa and Sheila bring many years of practice in the Plum Village tradition as well as the joy of being long time spiritual friends to offer you a collaboration that continues Thich Nhat Hanh’s legacy.
The Buddha taught that the practice of generosity is considered the first factor of enlightenment. As in the Buddha’s time, the teachings will be given freely. Please consider bringing a donation to cover the cost of renting the Library of the Temple and for the teachings.
Please register by emailing Sheila an RSVP at mimesh@jeffnet.org. If you have let Sheila know you will be coming, there is no need to RSVP again.
Any questions, contact Sheila mimesh@jeffnet.org or Alexa alexasingertelles@gmail.com
All are welcome, beginners and experienced practitioners alike.
